Low grain refrigerant dehumidifiers use refrigerated coils that lower air temperatures to dew point so that moisture condensates, just like other compressor models. What makes them different is the dual cooling system that features an air-to-air exchanger to transfer heat instead of liquid refrigerants.

The double cooling systems in LGR dehumidifiers allow them to withdraw more moisture. They make the air much drier than convention compression models and work efficiently in low humidity environments. You can continue to remove water below 55 grains per pound with a quality low grain system. As a result, low grain refrigerant dehumidifiers are suited to flood recovery, water damage, trade drying, and humidity control. You can use them for sensitive areas and in colder conditions.
