The Ideal Outdoor Climate
Drawing on our expert understanding of thermal throw and wind resistance, our carefully selected range has been chosen for real world conditions. Our outdoor heaters are suitable for:
Patios & Gardens: Enjoy the alfresco lifestyle whatever the season.
Hospitality: Increase table capacity of cafes, pubs and restaurants during the colder months.
Terraces & Events: Combine powerful heating with aesthetic designs.
Electric vs. Gas: Choosing The Right Fuel
Our technical team categorises our range into the following two technologies:
Infrared Heaters: Infrared offer up to 98% energy to heat conversion. They’re electric, so require no fuel storage and can be mounted on the wall or ceiling. We would recommend you use them in sheltered or fixed seating areas.
Gas Heaters: Are suitable for large, open gardens or high ceiling venues. They provide high intensity heat coverage and are portable. They operate independently of the power grid, but require regular cylinder refills and annual safety checks.
Quality Brands You Can Trust
At Climate Dry, we partner with manufactures who lead the industry in IP weather ratings and luminous efficiency. Our range features brands such as:
Bromic: High performance, design-led solutions.
Herschel & Tansun: Both are pioneers in infrared technology.
Kratki: Experts in gas heating and flame aesthetics.
Every product meets UK/EU safety standards, ensuring your investment is durable and safe.
Getting the Layout Right
A poorly placed heater will not only waste energy, but will also fail to provide any comfort. Take some time to consider exactly where they should be placed. Our technical team say factors such as mounting height, wind direction and clearance to combustibles are critical.
We recommend several smaller units over one large one. Zoning your heat in this fashion will provide better heat distribution and often lower running costs. For this method the Tansun Rio Grande or the Herschel California would both be very good choices.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What does “IP Rating” mean and why does it matter?
A: IP stands for Ingress Protection, this tells you how resistant your heater is to dust and water. For a garden heater exposed to the elements, we recommend a minimum of IP55.
Q: How do I calculate how many heaters I need?
A: In a sheltered area, a 2kW heater will cover approximately 7-10 m². In a windy, coastal location, you will likely need to increase the wattage. Our technical team can provide you with a bespoke layout for your floorplan.
Q: Are infrared heaters safe?
A: Yes, it’s a natural form of warmth. It is similar to the sun except without the harmful UV rays. It’s also a clean technology that doesn’t emit greenhouse gases at the point of use.
Q: Which is cheaper to run: Gas or Electric?
A: Electric heaters are more cost effective for targeted use due to their efficiency and lower maintenance. Gas heaters are great for off grid locations but have higher fuel costs per hour.
