Refrigerant dehumidifiers are the most common type of dehumidifier. They feature an internal compressor which uses refrigerant gas to cool a set of coils. The coils cool the moisture in the air to below its dew point, causing it to condense into liquid and drop into a colleciton tank - or to be drained directly out of the unit by a hose.
